The below is an email that was received from a Haverford board member and mother of a Hawks player...
I have never sent an email to the opposing club after a game; but after my experience yesterday at my daughter's game I felt the need to get in touch with you. Let me start by saying we've had a very LONG season (we've only won one league game). I know much more defines a the season than the team's final record, but it has still been tough. Partially as a result of our season, as well as for some other issues that were beyond our control, we ended up with only six skaters and a goalie at our game yesterday. Needless to say, despite our kids efforts, the final was 9-0. What I found so remarkable was the incredible sportsmanship shown by Palmyra. After the game one of the coaches came into our locker room and commended the kids on the job they did (I heard from my daughter's teammates that a mother and the manager also came in the locker room to congratulate our kids.) When I was leaving the rink several parents stopped my daughter to tell her how well her team played. In speaking with other Hawks parents at our game today, most had a similar experience while leaving the rink. All of the Hawks parents that were at the game in Palmyra were very impressed by the sportsmanship shown by your team. You should be very proud of them! Thanks.
